Fish Sanctuary/Regs Near Wendover Discussion

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I can see that this thread got started and deleted from the original one so I will say this, don't let anybody charge $100 to fish in a fish sanctuary.

Talk to a local guide, he should be able to point you in the right direction and pass you on the proper information.

Lots of folks seem to be knocking ORGF....

I'd have to say, for a guide to guarantee fish or money back? Not too sure many would or even do do that....

I see others points about perhaps mistaking whether an area is off limits or not and there is certainly validity to concern and embarrasment for the guide should he and clients be caught and fined.

However I don't think 2+ pages of berating is really required.

Yannick should know what he is doing.
If he made a mistake, he'll man up and say so.
I would expect the "Berating Drama Queens" to do the same.

I sure would like to get the MNR's take on this.

As the Great One was walking through the gates of some ancient city,
he came upon a bunch of Fish Hawkers getting ready to stone a Drama Queen.

The Great One came forth and yelled out at them to stop.

He then addressed the bunch of Fish Hawkers and said:
"Let he who has never made a mistake cast the first stone."

So out of the crowd comes this frail older lady and trusts a 30lbs rock right to the skull of the Drama Queen.
The Great One looked at her and said: "Mom, you really do pee me off sometimes."

Fish sanctuary - no fishing from
Mar. 1 - Fri. before 2nd Sat. in May

So if date are inclusive Feb 28th is the last day that you can fish in the sanctuary.

Here's where the north end of Conc. 4 is: https://maps.google.ca/maps?q=627+conce ... CAcQ_AUoAQ
At least the original link said concession 4. Google says concession 4 is one more road north...Either way that leaves ALOT of river to fish that isn't in a sanctuary near the mouth of the Ottawa. So please let me fish in season, in a non-sanctuary for fish I won't harvest in peace.

It says the fourth concession not the concession road 4. The roads run east west on the south side of the concession boundary. For example I live on concession 6 but my property is on the fifth concession. So the physical landmark for the boundary would be concession road 5.

the fourth concession - is the same as - concession road 4

there are no concessions that actually run east - west... none - not a single one!
they all run on a diagonal as they were plotted off the main river and/or what was "determined" to be upper / lower canada

Property descriptions are based upon the access that is used. ie. the flag marker. Blue Picket or whatever you call it.
The actual property could be located partly or not at all on that description.

The fishing regs are much simpler and don't bother with all this land address BS - they simply draw a line.
Sometimes the line is hard to describe, or mis-interpreted.
