Shirley's Bay road closed

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Well control yourself!

Plowing a road out and making a big loop would be awesome!

No need to go to every shack but keeping the access clear would do wonders!

Lol
Well just got done work for today and went to do a reccy. didnt get to the shack, got temporarily disabled twice but only for about 3 min each.
So i guess whovever plowed opened a new road to their shack, vs the original. both are heavily drifted in.
It is still traversable but off of it is another story unless your lifted.
The problem i see is atm the banks are pretty rock solid so will be hard to widen, and it was done in short passes pushed up vs windrowed which is harder to throw over. all n all easy enough to clear, but its going to be tougher to widen it now.
hmmm.. :?

]Went down today to Shirley's, around noon today and drove out about 150 yards but the drifts were huge. I backed up the ramp as been stuck a few times in the past and today being alone, would not have been fun. Only two people out there in portables, they walked out.

Anyone get out today for a fish.?

Went out around 3:30.
Three trucks went out, we knocked the drifts down by hand a bit then the first guy blasted his way through.
smooth sailing after that.
they looked like they had fun getting out to their trailer flying on top of the snow.
pulled up a few Sauger and a couple Ling.

Nice to hear the fish are still coming!
haha yupp, i couldnt quite stay ontop of that snow the other day though, i followed a track and got stuck 10 ft short of where they did on a previous days attempt.
Was going to try and come clear a bit but have been working until now, and this wind is not helping.
Yakster, do you have a shack out there? if so in which group if ya dont mind me asking?

Went to go out and got stuck on the road going out....20 min later I was out and said shag it and went to the lcbo instead.

No shack out there just a pop up...where do I set up?...just over that way...lol
off the point to the right of the lauch in 12 FOW.

Look for the blue Clam pop up....with matching truck. That should narrow it down.
snow is getting heavily wind blown and slabs are forming, thinking things are going to get something interesting out there access wise.
Slush is starting to appear in pockets

Will do! If you see anyone in a deere tractor or a Silver pathfinder that sounds like its on the limiter its probly me :D
Indeed some solid snow packs in some places, thats what hung me up.
my shack is on wheels so its going to either help or hinder getting it off, haven't decided yet

Ya might need a couple sections of guardrail strapped to the wheels for skis if the weather keeps up!

Road is still closed, lots of drifts out there. Didn't see any cars out today. 2 walleye and 2 sauger tonight, biggest was 12 inches. Seems like there are more dinks this year than in the past. Damn it was a cold walk out to the shack tonight!

Hey I was thinking of making my first ever trip out into the bay tomorrow. Was wondering how much ice there is since I'm stuck with a hand auger for now.
