I Miss’d you!
This past weekend was one that we’d anticipated all week.
It was officially the first scheduled outing of the season.
Come Friday afternoon is when it started, eyes gleaming, palpitations racing.
Told her to strip down to the bare essentials, that i’d rub her in all the right places.
Told her preliminaries were needed in order to get her wet and lathered with soap.
As we shared this special moment, I told her not to worry, come 6pm tomorrow evening, she’d be covered in a moist slippery sludge, and I’d be riding her dirty once again.
There’s always a plot twist to every movie….
As we loaded her up Saturday morning, we noticed the deep-cycle batteries had not charged.
Thinking the problem may be the 3 bank onboard charger, we plugged the 2nd bank on the cranking battery, and lights went green.
Conclusions, the deep cycle batteries were caput!
Quick trip to our local Wally Mart pushed back our departure, but was needed.
Arriving to destination, as StarTzar went and parked the car, I took this opportunity to go back and forth on the deck of the boat and strut “A la Zoolander”.
After a brief meet up with ShawnD, we exchanged a few pleasantries, and moved on to our first spot.
We had acquired lots of new gear over the winter and couldn’t wait to try it out.
One of which was the Zonda Rosso (also referred to as the candy reel) paired up with the Megabass Diablo.
Lure of choice, the Megabass S-Crank and the I-Jack.
They both enticed and produced a great number of pike, nothing worthy of size, but a satisfying day nonetheless.
Sure feels good to be on the water again!
Tight lines to all!

Wasn't sure at the start, but your story finished strong.
The first outing of the season always comes with dramatics
How come I don't see any pictures of StarTzar .. after last Thursday's "school of crankin'" at PTales I was anxious to see pics of the master .. are you holdin' out .. stop hoggin' the glory!

Can you tell me exactly which rods you use for what. I have been told I use the wrong rods when crankbait fishing

You know I would be down for that!
I am also looking at adding a 764CBRM, it will be paired with one of those gold reels if it ever gets here...

I tried an Alphas on the 764CB. Excellent combo.
I liked it so much that my Calcutta is moving onto the 805CBRM.
Both Alphas are going on the 764CBRM's
