McLaurin Bay
Is it still accessible from the Ottawa River? Last time I was in there 4-5 years ago the beavers were at work building a dam and I almost got the boat stuck!!!
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

Last time I was there, the only beavers building a dam must have been at least 16 years old, as it was a Pontiac blocking the mouth of the channel!!

The dam was started in the channel as you come in from the Blanche River. You can clearly see it on Google maps.
When I was in High school a 16 year old was still a muskrat!!!

Re: McLaurin Bay
I just did it today.
The water level is down, so I would recommend a pretty shallow draft, and a trolling motor the stretch from Rivier Blanche to the first Bay.
Your main motor will do what I call turtle Alley, in between the two bays.
Be careful, entering from R. Blanch. There is a log across the opening only about 1' deep.
Not many more days left to be able to do it, in a bass boat. A smaller boat will be fine for another couple weeks maybe.
