2016's BIG Fish BlowOut!

2016 was a bit of a strange year for time management. Normally most plans with work and play are sorted out long before any days arrive. Last winter was in a funk though, wondering what was to come and by spring, nothing much had really changed. The seasons were passing by and I had to roll with it. In the end the year all came together better than ever expected. Very well actually. Seemingly found a work and play balance with the scales leaning heavily to the fun side. Along the way, caught a tonne of new species, personal bests and had some amazing fishing experiences from the arctic north to tropical south. Sturgeon, arctic char, sharks and many other usual fish make up the bulk of the fish porn in this one. Any interested can read on, it's picture loaded and word friendly. 8)

Another fantastic fishing year for ya! The sharks and sturgeon are impressive but I think that those char take the cake in 2016.

It's understood but still kinda crazy that the char do "take the cake" with most people who have read the stories this year. Besides shark and sturgeon and specks/pike/pinks in just the latter half of the year it's the char and arctic fishing which will be what I remember most too. Not to say the other fishing wasn't memorable. It's just that with char comes the Arctic and every time I go there the energy runs high and there's a sense something great will happen. Going to do a little more writing on it over the winter if time. A piece on some char differences and tactical stuff methinks. Research for a potential new char spot begins this week and hopefully this summer there will be more to come. :D
