New Year Gold
New Year Gold
With the recent holidays, found enough time to get out for several walleye outings.
The 1st outing at the end of 2016 was slow, but with 2017 rung in, the 2nd outing struck gold!!
excuse the grainy images, the camera got switched to Man instead of Auto
4.6lb orange fin to get things started...
Thunk! A new PB walleye...
Trumped by this big girl... 7.5lbs... thick and fat!!
The 4.6lb male was invited to dinner .., YUM

Re: New Year Gold
Thanks fellas,
Yves, you are correct. Years ago, as a kid, in the 70's, I used to fish walleye on Scugog with family, then in the 80's, the Trent river and BOQ when I lived nearby. In the early 90s, I would travel back to Quinte for the opener every spring. By 96, eyes slipped off my radar, targeting instead smallies and lakers, spring crappie and perch, with the occasional speck. Young family and geographical reasons.Walleye'm Fishing wrote:Pretty sure that's the first walleye report that I see from you on here... Wow, some high quality gold right there! Congrats.
True. It was time for a change, and the St Lawrence has been beckoning. But still, it's hard to beat a tank laker hitting like a freight train!Doug wrote:Len, those are NOT lakers, are you feeling OK buddy?

Long time no (Hawk) talk!
Had to ring in on this post though...! Gorgeous fish. Are you sure the one in the 3rd pic isn't a largemouth?! Haha. It's as broad as the side of a barn. Fatty!
Hope all's well with you and your family. Happy New Year!
