Ice Fishing Seminar this weekend...

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I'll be at Cabelas both Saturday and Sunday for Clam Corp to answer any questions you may have as well! Don't be shy, if you're a Fish-Hawker please introduce yourself!

Good day all,

Attended the Seminars yesterday and thought they were somewhat informative but basic. Especially enjoyed speaking with Dave Chong on his various line set ups and bait preferences. For all you perch fisherman out there Dave shared a new lure that reportedly is just dynamite for perch on Lake Simcoe and other lakes in the region but also productive for walleye and Pike.. It's called the Slab Grabber which looks like a spoon with an extended triangular shape with a slight bend at the hook tipped with a bead on the shaft of the hook and a touch of colored plastic/enamel just above it. The accompanying video showed how this bait just presented vertically without any action results in strikes without any jigging action. Picked up a few for myself they have a great selection of them at cabelas for $5.99 reasonable compared to some other ice fishing baits out there. Was a little surprised on the small number of people attending the seminars and thought there would have been door prizes as mentioned in the ad that I thought was sponsored by several prominent companies : Navionics/ Vexilar / HT. and no mention of any "Door Prizes" from these companies were mentioned. Received a jig/metal bucket rod holder

Cheers
