Ive heard of people taking the via rail train where they let you off in the middle of nowhere (and pick you up from the same spot). Has anyone done this?
Thanks
Andrew
Taking the train
Re: Taking the train
I here there is one out of sudbury. Looks like a great adventure. They let you put your canoe on the roof of the train
Re: Taking the train
My brother did it twenty years ago, pickup scheduled a, week later.
As the train pulled away he shot a moose that was standing on the other side of the track...
Now what? LOL.
Apparently it was a very relaxed week.
I have no idea if they still do it, but it sure left him with a lot of great stories.

Thanks for the replies guys
Re: Taking the train
We've done the Agawa Canyon trip a few times. That train does drop offs and pickups.
I believe Ontario Northland does as well.
That would be an adventure.

Re: Taking the train
Is this the train that let's you off for Stop 88 or is it Lodge 88, right off the rail line.
I remember seeing a fishing show in the past, which did a show out of this Lake and Lodge.
Can't remember what show it was but was a Canadian show, which cuts it down to about 4 at the most.
Probably many other stops or Lodges operating similar to this.
