A Little Salmon Action

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

A Little Salmon Action

Post by JimW »

Went salmon fishing yesterday, first time salmon fishing in my boat for a couple years. Launched around 5:30 pm eastern part of GTA, fished until about 12:30 pm. I was a great day on the water.... sunny, nice and calm, unfortunately not a lot of fish action. We fished 50 to 80 feet of water most of the time and tried deeper 100-120 feet for awhile as well. We managed to catch 3 salmon, the biggest being 16 pounds. One fish caught on a spoon of the downrigger, the other 2 fish caught on cut bait on wire dipseys. Hopefully back out for another try. Soon.

Great looking fish! Always good to not get skunked when out for those bigger fish!

That some sweet early action. The big ones should move in soon.
