hey joe,

I was fishing black lake near perth. They actually sink and the barbell eyes turn the fly over. We let them sink and fished them as slow as we could strip them in. Sometimes we didn't even strip at all- we just let the wind drag us along.

here's a pic of the fly we were using. We were flyfishing..and yes most flies are designed to sink. Don't think you could cast it with spinning tackle but it gives you and idea for jigs.
