BOVT PICTURES!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

lol..Now I do see the tip of the nose off the tape a bit so should we cut it in half and say -1.5cm?? What do the others think about this?

Cheers

Good job with the derby almontefisher.

The angler should call the length IMO as they saw the fish better than anyone else and
only challenged if the pic. shows differently.
The length should be the total length, just as it would measured if
there was a slot size.
A board with a stop is nice to have, rest the mouth at the stop and then no problem
determining where the tape starts.
Also bass get longer if the mouth is extended open, up to a 1/2" longer.
It's your call of course, keep up the good work.

Here is Junior's entry for LMB. for BOVT.
Canal fishing earlier in September. Forgot the BOVT ID. but thought I would put it in anyway to get more pictures up.
Tape says 31 cm. Junior is absolutely positive he had a 2nd one follow this, but a little bigger?
We will see as I have promised him that we will go back today for it, he in charge of making his own BOVT TAG on his sticky paper for today!

Not much luck for me ( Dad) but I must say there is a lot of great pictures & posts this month on local fishing, especially for small mouth bass , Pike, Musky etc.on the Rideau River , so close to downtown which is great. Got to get out there this week too!

Keep fishing!

Fantastic picture. Great memories. I like the pose. He's holding up the bass just like a Pro. :D
If Junior says there was a larger one following, then that's what it is. It happens to me all the time.
BOVT Tag or not, I'm sure that we can all agree to include Junior on the leader board. 8)

My son finally got a bass for the tourney. A whopper at 30cm.

So this was something I never had to do before as I always fish with someone who can take the pics. So holding a bass for my son while taking a picture and trying to make sure the Id code is in it. Lol. Let's just say I dropped the Id code in the river and couldn't get a good angle on the tape. Oh well he was still happy and had a good day!

Great seeing kids getting in the action.

I've been trying for a 22" smallie for quite a while,
couldn't even break 20" this weekend, never mind 21-22".
Got this one near Perth.

19 3/4" 50 cm.

I had a couple bigger bass at a Pigeon Lake fishing derby a week and a half ago but forgot to measure them. This time, I forgot my paper with my BOVT number. Oh well, I'm posting it anyway.

Largemouth, just under 16".

I think I will allow it wdalziel as how many people bring a tapemeasure shore fishing..lol. Also we do not have many entries in so that too is another reason I will allow it.
