May 3rd Catfishing With Johnny Bass

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

May 3rd Catfishing With Johnny Bass

Post by BBRich »

Well Johnny Bass joined me today at Area 57 as we tried to get him a big channel cat and lift his curse! Unfortunately, we couldn't do it. The channel cats were nowhere to be found. We did get into a bunch of carp and one nice sheephead before the day was up though! Just basically used worms and corn/Kool-Aid. The fish were hitting but the channel cats must have dropped back out to the lake til the water heats up again!

First carp of the day:

Another little guy:

And the biggest carp of the day, 11.9lbs but the camera must have been moving because it turned out blurry! Figures it turns blurry on the biggest fish of the day!

And finally the big sheephead (also blurry):

Well Johnny Bass, sorry about the lack of catfish! Last Friday it was crazy but today it was dead! But at least we had the bullheads and carp to keep us interested. Great to meet you and I hope we can do it again sometime.

Hey, I wish my day had included just one of those good fish.

Holy carp, BBR, that last one is a giant. But "@#$&*"! on the bad pic, huh?! (Was Johnny Bass the photographer?! Uh-Oh!!  )

Fun day, with or without the cats guys.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Yes a Sheephead is a drum and we did have a good time. Shephead are really great scrappers. Especially in deep water. Rich really out fished me. He had a sweet spot that produced a decent carp ever 10-15 minutes. He didn't post all the carp pictures he caught. He had Home river advantage.lol

I wonder how those pictures got so blurry?I gotta stop drinking.lol
Then again. Have you ever since the movie The Ring, Rich
