Big-o you are a mad man! You really must have the fever. Unfortunately, my fishing partner has other commitments this weekend. Having said that, I do not (unless you consider Joanne wanting me to help her paint one of the rooms a commitment. I consider it an inconvenience which can quickly become a distant problem on the BOQ! ) I'll have to let you know closer to the weekend. Also depends if I can find a partner, as trying to net those big girls and handle an 8 1/2 foot rod at the same time isn't too easy. I'll probably be going up next weekend in any case for the last trip of the year (where have I heard that before???). Stay tuned!

I am pumped beyond belief after having a great luck the past weekend. I can hardly wait to try again on Sat...
Long range is showing A few flurries and 2C... whoo hooo.
I sure hope we can get the boat out of the water when we are done. Hoping to launch from Deseronto.
Cheer.

Hey Jugger_nott,

thanks for the kind words in your other post. In any case, were you planning on fishing in Deseronto? If you're planning on fishing by the ferry or cement plant, there is a really good ramp beside the ferry that Big-o and John used last weekend. As soon as you unload your boat you're on the fish (hopefully). Would save you a heckuva run with the boat from Deseronto. Just a thought. Good luck and maybe I'll see you guys out there this weekend. Not looking good right now but still a possibility.

The ramp on the opposite side to picton was a good ramp. It was a little steep but had great traction. Just make sure to go out straight as there's a few rocks on the side.. nothing to worry about if it's daylight but if you launch in the early hours you may not notice them.. Also as with any docks this time of year becareful walking on wood as the ice that forms can be VERY slippery. One good thing is the ferry is right next door so there's lots of light for an early morning launch ! :-)

Boat Launch

Desoronto works for us cause it's a short run to the Skyway bridge... caught a few lunkers there last weekend and it's only about 10ish min to Tompsons point...
I can hardly wait.

I think I'll have to pass this weekend and next    The weather isn't looking too co-operative with wet flurries and 45 km/h winds for Saturday. Last weekend, I think the winds were only 25 km/h and was fairly rough so trying to fish in the kind of weather forecast for this weekend solo probably wouldn't be too smart for me. Next Saturday is my company X-mas party so no go there. I think my last gasp for the year will be the 13th if the weather co-operates. Anyways, good luck to all and be safe.

Well i just looked at the weather and for Sat in picton they are giving it ...

High 4c - Wet Flurries and W 45 km/h .. I know there's bays so even with the wind there should be a place to hide although it's something to be careful of at this time of year as ken points out... especially by yourself !

My boat is pretty much packed away.. I'm just going to give it a clean through and then say a goodbye to it for a few months. Hopefully spring will come fast enough. I won't be working after all but it's too far packed up to get it in the game again.. after all it has already been almost put away once.

Good luck to those going out though.

I hear he can get quite unruly at this time of the year, and he probably needs an escort.
Salmon , you should check to see if he would like to go fishing after the parade. This site has a lot of good pictures, but none of Santa pulling in a hog of a fish.

:D Hey spoke to Santa today..jolly as usual. He did say he needed a bigger hat like his friend Lucannus. Also that he does a lot of ice fishing and thinks it should be a national sport. And all you good fish hawk folk better get your letters in for new rods and reels, gps units and the like..or he might have to use them himself. Oh yes... Merry Christmas.. :D Image
