This is my first time here this site is GREAT !!! Like a dream come true. I just moved to ingersoll Ont. and I am wondering if there are any decent spots close by ( 1/2 hr drive) for crappie. Is the fishing any good outa port burwell? ( need somewhere to go with the boat come spring) I have heard the old mill in thamesford is ok for bass will try that next summer
Head east to Cambridge and get off the 401 at Townline Road. Turn right off the ramp and left at the lights..that will bring you to little and puslinch lake about a mile down the road. You can find crappie in both. Port Burwell is a hot spot for walleye, rainbows ,perch and of course sheephead. They hit right through the summer. In spring you can find channel cats topping 15 lbs in the river at Burwell..Grand River through Cambridge has lots of smallies and pike. Head west to Thames river and you will find spring walleye. Straight into Drumbo south from you I believe you head through town and you will hit the Nith River. Cross the first main bridge where you see the river until you hit next side road..turn right and you will find a steel bridge. The hole there contains walleye, crappie, pike and of course suckers and carp.
kegman there is some good crappy fishing in the spring if you have a light boat with electric motor at deer creek dam, there is a fee to get in though i believe
if you take highway 19 s through tillsonburg and keep heading south towards port burwell, there is a turn off called county road 45, and before hand it is marked with a provincial park sign, follow this east and you will see the dam on the left and shortly after that is the entrance to the park
