rideau river tonight

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

rideau river tonight

Post by muskymatt »

Well it was my first musky outing of the year , a good friend of mine and I headed out after work to do some fishing.
The weather was awesome , not too hot and a little chop on the water.
We launched about 5:45pm and dropped some spinner baits on the troll.

Not too long into it I had a good hit , felt some headshakes and then it was gone
We stopped and did some casting with no luck ,but it sure felt good!!!

A little later my fishing partner got a decent hit and before you knew it the fish was 3' in the air doing some acrobatics, and then was gone
No pics (sorry) but we had a really good first run , getting ready for the Ottawa opener.

All in all a great night on the water :D

Ahhh the elusive musky. Those hits must have got your heart going eh. I hit a couple of musky on the Nation many years ago when I was about 14. Almost pulled me into the water from shore. I must say, I love reading these reports.

It's always a rush to hear screamin reels, even if you don't boat them.

Thanks Tip- up I can't wait for the opener --only a few more days :)

DUQ there is nothing quite like a trophy size muskie pulling on your line , the strenght is incredible

Shame nothing was boated Matt but we all know that adrenaline rush of a head shake or out of water acrobatics. Gets the blood pumping!
