Is anyone daring to fish on Valentine's Day or on the day of the sacred Daytona 500. Unfortunately I have been grounded for both of these occasions although if for any reason the wife passes out from too much partying or it rains in Daytona it would be nice to know where all the action is going to be.

Fishin on Valentines:
Since we belong to the olfarts club, my presents are valued on Val. day, but my presence is not required, as long as Chinese food follows in the evening.
Hence, shall probably be heading to Nauds Point on the Rideau Lk., or Grasshopper Point on the Miss. Lake.
Was up to Grasshopper today for a couple of hours......nada!!: Got caught in a white out and beat a retreat. Drove out of it near Perth.
Looking forward to meeting some Fish-Hawkers in the near future.
Regards: Jigs.

Get your 'Bud Light Institute' greeting cards ...
"Honey, let's make February 15th our Valentine's Day".
Actually my wife said no Valentine's gifts this year. Which translates to, I'd better get her something small yet meaningful and be available for the whole day Saturday. *sigh* Do you think she'd like a scum frog?

I'm looking forward to tomorrow! We're fishing Lake Simcoe in the morning and hopefully we'll hook into some nice fish.
I do have a question to throw out to all you deep water ice fishermen though.
I'm trying no stretch spider line on one of my poles tomorrow...I'm thinking this will help with light bite detection as well as hook sets in 50+ feet of water. I've heard that this line absorbs water, so I'm wondering if cold tempurtures affect it any way? I'm guessing that since I'll be in a hut tomorrow, that it won't have much of an affect, but what if I venture outside in freezing temperatures?
