I was asked about the rod holder set up I've been using so here it is

Nofish it's pretty simple the holder can be bought at LB for 25$ or so and it is a lift out lock. All you have to do is lift straight up and the release is complete.
The handle of the net fits in perfect and holds the net while you unhook and release the fish

I bought mine in may and still never installed them :oops: they are by far the slickest setup for trolling.

But you really need to see FishHawks setup :shock:

I bought the the single screw setup last year and the double one this year, The double will handle any big fish rod easily. I love them, straight
up for the hookset and the rod is out of the holder .
The best that I have seen so far.

They don't get much better.
I've got one on each side and one off the back for prop wash.

I had my drag tight and my single clamp rod holder is at the bottom of the lake after getting snagged. :oops: :lol:. I had actually thought that the rod had went with it too. but it released itself and was floating.

I have a new dual clamp now! These are great for trolling any length of time, especially if you are driving the boat.
...anything to bend the rod

Here is my 2x6 solution for double downeasterns.

Same as Matt one each side, and 1 down middle.

Notch is required to be drilled out at attachment location to allow clamp to hold rod vertical... if ever needed...

2x6 is held on by bunge cords, to eye hook in back deck.

I've seen many variations of the 2x6 method , what a little bit of imagination will accomplish.

That one of yours is tops for sure , saves the boat holes too.
