This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Its a really nice tasting fish. My mom used to make it for me when we live in the states. I am not sure if thats the real name but I think it is.

Here is a link for Orange Roughy info:

http://www.starfish.govt.nz/science/fac ... roughy.htm

It is a very mild tasting fish, white flesh. Was very popular a few years ago. The novalty seems to have worn off now, at one time just about every restaurant had it on their menu.

Tied for first place is Walleye and Crappy

A lot of restaurants now serve Talapia. It is a very good fish, doesn't have that very oily fish taste. It is very light I would compare it to walleye.

Believe it or not smoked catfish/barbot (sp?) is also extremely tasty. I built a smoker at my cottage, so when I catch 50+ next year I would be happy to share with anyone interested in trying...

Pike

Post by pchilli1 »

Surprisingly, mine is pike from cold winter water. When filleted properly to remove all bones, the meat is quite delicious.
