Name: Mike Lilly
Nickname: Fishhawk
From: Stittsville, Ontario
Date Caught: July 2007
Weight: 5.1 lbs
Technique/Lure: Hawg Wild Vomit Tube

I went camping at Muskrat Lake with six other families, including Bobber's, for the Canada Day Week-End. On Saturday morning we went to try out a spot that we had learned about last year.

We were disappointed with the forecast for the week-end. When you have temps approaching the mid-thirties suddenly falling back in to single digits in the early morning, the fishing can often be very difficult. I wasn't surprised to only catch four bass on this morning. They were all fun fish in the two lb range, with the exception of the last fish.

I've never been one to fish a tube slowly. Or a senko. Or a worm. Patience is something I am going to work on this year. Giving fish a chance to move through weeeds to eat the bait is going to be key to my great season this year - I hope.

So there I was, fishing my favourite bait so far this year, a Hawg Wild Baits Vomit tube (yes, I said Vomit) into pockets in weeds and lily pads. I had counted my ten Mississippi's when my line went sideways. Patience had paid off and I pulled this hawg from the weeds. It weighed 5.06 lbs on my friend's Rapala scale.

Gotta get me some more of those Vomit tubes. They have accounted for more than two-thirds of my bass to this point this summer.

In the words of Takahiro Omori whilst fighting a huge bass with minutes left in the 2004 BassMaster Classic...

In Broken English "God, Big fish, Big Fish, oh Big Fish, FIVE POUUUUUNDER!!!!".... (side note, he then landed it and took home a cool $500,000 for winning the BM Classic).

Superb speciman....Nice cobden Bass....

Beauty fish!!! Where the heck do you get a Hawg Wild Baits Vomit tube? Two more questions are they weedless, and how do you fish them?

Nice fish, but can you imagine the scale weight when it begins to fill in towards late summer and into fall? He's still a head-heavy lunker right now!

Who knew that vomit could be a good thing?

How to rig a tube? There are a few million ways to do it and a couple are in here...

http://www.fish-hawk.net/hawktalk/viewt ... 464#184732

I rigged the vomit tube texas style with a weight stuffed inside it. No pork legs this time.

And Wolfe... indeed that fish can probably pack another pound on before the fall is out.

I like the colour of the Vomit tube. Bobber calls it earthy. Check with the tackle shops that support Fish-Hawk.net to see if they have any Hawg Wild Baits. I don't believe they are distributed far and wide but for sure they are in a couple of stores.
