This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

MT,

Tyler has used a neat little metal pole the past 2yrs which his grandfather brought home from FL. It was under 3' with a closed-faced reel, but was of a decent quality. The biggest drawbacks were you couldn't cast it too far and there was no action / sensitivity to the rod tip. It was a good match for his ability level, but now we're ready to move on.

I, too, think the size of his new rig will be awkward at the start; hopefully he'll grow into it. It's a nice, light set-up, too. Not sure if he'll do the casting yet, (we'll start Casting 101 with one of the smaller rods in our yard, first)!

Good luck with your little ones in the boat this upcoming season. When T was younger, filling the livewell up and allowing him to dunk (hookless!) softbaits kept him occupied. Does your 3-yr old daughter actually fish? Shane's ready to learn I hope....?!?!?! (Just turned 3!) Have fun tubing, but be really careful out there. Lots o' morons tooling around.

W.
