Baitcasters Walleye/Pike Tournament

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Omar the Tent Maker Rainsuit

Post by Seaweed »

Hey Bacon .... man do I know what you mean by trying to find rainsuits in real men sizes. opps.... sorry

Try the Ponchos at that fishing store out on ..... err what is that road in Bells Corners... you know ... errr

I just picked one up for twenty..... cool

I already bounced the idea off of both Crystal and Ed about finding gear in a 3x or 4x and they gave me this funny look like .... errr

I have been searching for years now... it ain`t gonna happen. Back to the Tony Littleizer for me.... if I can find it.

A bit o rain never hurt anyone anyhow.

Tournament Time

Post by Seaweed »

Well I am psyched..... got the lines ready and after speaking with Mike last night the only thing I need to bring is a loaf of breat and a jar of peanut butter and four boxes of beer. .... errr is that for Friday?

Anyone want to share any tips on what works for them on Mississippi Lake for spring pike an walleye.....

I have a few go-to baits but any help I can get to win this tournament would be greatly appreciated... hey I won the get-away weekend package I might as well take the tournament too.... just to get the year off to a good start.... errrrr Bay of Quinte doens`t count...

Hope to see a bunch of you out there.

I will be Christening the new boat for anyone who wants to get a giggle and see someone get used to launching a new boat ..... I hope the wife doesn`t forget to put the car back in drive after I launch the boat.

:?

Seaweed,

Here are a couple of quick tips:

Spinnerbaits catch pike. Cast them pretty anywhere in this lake.

Walleye can be caught trolling or jigging. I myself will be jigging. Don't be surprized on how shallow these Walleye can be. Last year I was pulling them out anywhere for 4 ft to 12 feet.

I don't use live bait (at all) so I stick to power bait or the new yum baits.

I will be fishing the derby as well out of a Tracker Deep V16. Good luck.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike
Remember... that is the Tracker Deep V16 you follow around on Saturday, not mine.

See you all at the tournament.

P.S. Shallow is a big tip in spring and on this lake...(Heck the whole lake is shallow  ) I have caught them on flooded cottage yards in a foot of water. Show them the food, catch walleye!

Good luck to all...and have fun.

All you guys and gals have a great time fishing the tourney on Saturday. I will keep my fingers crossed that you will catch a good break in the weather...!?

Everyone be safe and have fun. Wish I could be going, too.

Hardest part will be picking someone to root for out of all you fantastic people! Can't wait to hear how you all made out!

W.

PS: Pink Lady, you represent us X chromosome anglers...go get 'em!

Wolfe, pick me, pick me!!!

FH/ Bobber, have not heard if you guys will be there. In all likelyhood, you could retire from the potential Fish-Hawk hat sales.

Speaking of FH hat sales, I've been thinking (which is a dangerous thing).

FishHawk & Bobber, why not create a FishHawkers calendar with photo's of some of our good looking family members and their catches! Then again, the people need not be pretty, just the fish!

I can smell the $$ and it would be fun. (Oh, the possibilities...! )

W.

PS: you'll be getting a hat order from me shortly -- or as my hubby calls them, "lids".
