Fish-Hawk FSR channel ?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fish-Hawk FSR channel ?

Post by Xenos »

After meeting Karack, RJ and Bacon today, I was thinking as others have already mentioned, we need to decide on a FRS radio channel and use it. These Radios are gaining popularity now and you can by two for under 50 bucks.

What do others think obout this subject?

If you are talking about those walkie talkie type radios I dought you will ever hear anyone else. LOL I bought some good ones last year so we could use them when we are guiding a large group in 2 boats. Well even tho we were fishing the same area the damn things would only work when we would be in sight of one another. They say a 2 miles radius but that's without wind or islands. LOL

I am going to be getting a couple of marine radios this year, one permanent for the boat and a portable for my other guide. I wish I would of known as they are not that much more money and work so much better.
Catch and release them all

I use them for camping too...great for the kids..

I've seen people using them in shopping malls on Boxing day too...

I think whenever someone is heading out somwhere just let people know where you are headed and say what channel you will be monitoring..

Fish-Hawk FRS Channel

Post by Seaweed »

Great Idea although I hollered on Channel 4 and 6 yesterday down on the Bay of Qunite and got no replys.

How about we let the Great Lake Hawk-Talkers use Channel 4 and the inland water Hawk-Talkers use Channel 6?

That way if you are fishing inland lakes or rivers use Channel 6 and if you are fishing anything on or near the Great Lakes you can use Channel 4.

Anyone else have this problem :?:

I find my fishfinder creates interference in my FRS Radios. Makes it sound like somebody is continuously keying the mike.
