Favorite Topwater Plugs

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Favorite Topwater Plugs

Post by weekend warrior »

It's time to make some new additions to the tackle box. Anyone have any favorite topwater plugs/hardbaits for bass?

I've been throwing the new Strike King Rage Tail. Makes a ton of noise and is weedless.

Hulla-popper, Skitterpop, Spro frog.

I`d really love to see a topraider (musky bait) miniaturized for bass!
That thing is awsome! Makes a very, very distinct sound!

Has a single propeller on the back that spins through the water!
IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A SMALL ONE AND WHERE TO GET IT LET ME KNOW!!!

Jitterbugs, zara spooks, Hedden torpedo's. :-) I picked up a buzzbait last year, but no luck with it (yet). :-)

Jamsers - the bait you describe sounds a lot like the Hedden torpedo! :-) I don't know much about musky baits though, so I could be wrong.

Chug Bug, Zara Spook and the Matzuo Spit and Sputter poppers are my favorite top water hard baits. I have caught fish on all the other lures mentioned too!

skitter pop in firetiger for calm days, and in windy condition rapala subwalk seems to get it done for bass and especially pike.

Skitter pop in frog or clown, or black jitterbug.

Hey Jamsers did you ever try a Smithwick Devil Horse?
It's a 2 prop bait though.
