Post spawn Walleye

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

My advice for that tricky time right after the spawn while they are filtering back to the points, weedbeds and shoals is to COVER WATER. The more the better. Personally, I LOVE bottom-bouncer trolling. I usually pick them up in ones and twos here, there and everywhere. If I notice that I pick up a couple fish from the same spot, I'll try and jig it with bait, but I won't spend as much time and effort as I would in a couple weeks (15 min max) and then start trolling again. It's just too unpredictable, and they don't seem to be stacked up in the honey holes like they will by the end of the month.
