CANOE PONTOONS

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A PLAN FOR BUILDING PONTOONS FOR A CANOE ?
SOMETHING EASY WOULD BE NICE.
CANOE IS TOO TIPPY AND WIFE DON'T LIKE IT SO I WANT TO TRY TO MAKE HER FEEL A LITTLE SAFER AND MORE SECURE!!

Try turning off the caps lock button on your keyboard first....

Danomano Keep the caps lock on, I wouldn't need reading glasses if everybody would do it.

Google Canoe Outriggers and it should give you an idea on how to DIY.

I found this on EBAY within 1 minute.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/KAYAK-OR-CANOE-OUTRI ... otohosting

It uses a rod holder on each side pretty ingeneous(spelling??).
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

i have much joss building boat pieces with underlay plywood and west systim epoksee.

I know that you wanted to build your own but that system looks like it could easily be built. a couple of rod holders with 2 sticks with big foams on the ends of them??? Can't see it being any easier to DIY. Just need to figure out what to use for the foam ends. You could try to attach dock bumpers to a couple of big broom sticks.
