50 HP 1966 Mercury Kiekhaefer 500

I am just wondering if anyone has any idea of what, or atleast how to find out what the fuel economy in Miles/Galon this outboard generally achieves when kept in tune and ran under optimal running conditions. Any info. would be great, thanks

Have you tried contacting Mecury out board marine.....i'm sure these are the people that can answer your question :D ...Good luck...let us know when you get a answer :D

Try giving the guys at Golden Triangle Marine in Carleton Place a call (257-4601). All they work on is Mercs, they got some older than yours too. Sandy's got 45 years working on them.

Actually, I'm getting a rebuilt 1986 50HP Merc from them to replace my 1965 Merc 500. Speaking of which, it's still working and for sale.
