Fishing with the kids Feb 13th

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fishing with the kids Feb 13th

Post by Out4trout »

Been doing quite a lot of ice fishing this winter - conditions are great so far...
Yesterday, a friend and I decided to take our kids and some of their friends out on the lake for some pike action.

The ice is ideal for skating, so set lines were just the ticket... us Dad's watch the lines while the kids skate and play hockey...

When a flag would trip - call over the kids...

Needed to lug a lot of crap out when fishing with 5 kids

Tipup tripped!! - the kids heading over

Fish On!! there's a tight line there... a small crowd gathers :D

Small pike- someone's a bit leery of the toothy end!!

Another one - getting bigger

Release Shot - flip splash!

Biggest fish of her life...a happy girl...

Lake was great for skating while dad keeps an eye on the lines...

Dad decided to lift a line for himself...

A few for Dinner - Crappie and Pike
<img Src="http://www.fish-hawk.net/photogallery/a ... 13_009.jpg">

My young lad pulled in a 4lb bass and was rather pleased at his new PB... but I can't show a pic in this report as it was OOS... back down the hole quickly...!!

There were some red rosy cheeks at the end of the day... tired and one happy bunch of kids!!

Good report man, good to get the kids out there and out of the house. A little fishing, a little hockey, can't beat that

A big thumbs up for sharing the day with the kids. Days like this will be remembered forever by both parent and child. Image

Great time dude!

Out4trout...

Just such a great feeling to see those kids' smiles and to see they had a good, old-fashioned day of winter fun on the ice and even managed to ice a few decent fish.

Good on you for getting them out there and away from the electronics and TV. :!:

A very enjoyable report!

Nice report, thanks! Looks like the skating wasn't bad either - that helps when the bite's slow.

Thanks all for the kind words... Yeah - good memories for all.
We're hoping to have another icefishing event for the kids in a few weeks.
