Canoe the Rideau from Winding way Sunday July 4 7am

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Canoe the Rideau from Winding way Sunday July 4 7am

Post by Mr.J. »

A buddy and I will be launching in my canoe from the dock at Winding Way, this is off of Prince of Whales just south of Fallowfield this Sunday July 4 with an expected launch of just after 7am give or take about 15 minutes.

Anyone else who also has a canoe care to join us? I have a trolling motor mounted on mine so we'll be able to cover a lot of ground.

Oh this is weather permitting, too windy and the canoe is just not the way to go.

Hope to get some pike and some bass.

I wish I had a boat so I could extend the offer to join us in the boat, too bad canoes are not good for more than two people so I canot offer a ride in mine but if some else has a canoe and wants to invite a non boater along then that would be great.

I'm off for the day and probably won't get to check back in until 6am Sunday morning.

P.S. My canoe is red (see Avitar) and my car is a green Accent so look for it in the parking lot.

Hey I was looking for you.

I got skunked but my buddie caught a muskie that was way too big to land, guess around 40 - 44 inches and at least 20 lbs.

Not much chance when it's muskie vs canoe. (the muskie won)

But it was fun to watch a fish take so much line for 10 - 15 minutes.

So suffice to say you guys did some tubing Saturday morning.

Mr. J, if you are looking for me just call. Your wife knows my number.

Was wanting to call you but was pretty much out of house all day Saturday, I could have called at 6am Sunday but thought better of that idea.

Sounds like we should have a canoe derby one day soon.

Mr.J, a canoe derby on the Rideau... What kind of prizes are you talking about?
