Abitibi Canoe Trip / Kwetabohigan Fishing Pics and my Boat
NORTHWEST CANOE COMPANY 20 FOOT FREIGHTER CANOE
SUNSET ON THE KWETABOHIGAN
great pics
There is nothing like a wilderness canoe trip. It must have been a super outing. I was a little shook up when I saw the first photo. Motors on canoes seem strange. It would take away from the serenity of the experience.

It's a different kind of travel.
The Motor on my canoe is not the same canoe I took on the trip. We paddled a 17 foot canoe down the river. The canoe with the motor is basically just my boat. A 20 foot Freighter Canoe, that at more than one time supported 3 grown men, a weeks worth of supplies and gas, and 2 fully butchered moose on a fall hunt up river.
I live on an island with 2500 others and most families have a boat. The boats here 99% of them are canoes with motors. You won't see a Lund, Princecraft or Ranger boat or anything like that up here. The only boats are either G-Man or Northwest Canoe Company, but there are 2 families with Seadoo boats, 2 with pontoon boats, a few people own Seadoos and on the mainland in Moosonee there's a Hovercraft.
If anyone is ever coming up this way please let me know. Myself, my buddy John and one of my co-workers are always willing to take someone fishing and sightseeing. And yes, you'll have to go for a ride in a canoe with a motor, there's just no getting around it.

hey moosebunk,
Those pics brought back some memories....a few yrs ago I paddled from chochrane to moosenee on the abitibi and moose rivers and returned on the polar bear express. It was an awsome trip with scenery and fishing that was second to none.... it is the only place I can recall catching beauty pickeral on topwater plugs totally by fluke! I must get back there again someday! I assume you live in moose factory after reading your post...what does one do for a living there that allows you to live in a place with such pristine wilderness a short boat ride away?

Fishin' and weather was off and on that trip. But here's a few other nice fish pics from the Moose Area.
BTW "wishin I was Fishing" I'm an RN in a clinic in Moosonee and in the ER in Moose Factory. 12 hour shifts make for extra days off to fish.
DOA. FOUL HOOKED, GOOD Fighter though
BIGGG BROOKIE
POOOPED ALL OVER MY BOAT AND GEAR. WAS GLAD TO GET HIM BACK INTO THE WATER.
