BEAVERS

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

HAHAHAH Made ya's look.

No seriously though, these 2 beavers took offence to me helping out old Jimmy on his trap line, so the damn varmints tried stealing my wrist watch. They left me bloodied and took off leaving a trail of these big, orange ticks behind them. Gross.

friend of mine works for CN and has to keep those critters from building dams that flood the tracks. He left one in my garage as a joke so I decided to clean and smoke it. Turned out to be quite tastey and I had a lot of fun having other male and female friends try a piece and letting them know they just ate beaver

I tried it in a stew once. The wife tells me that she finds it tastes like lamb. She doesn't like lamb, I don't like the thought of beaver.

But one time I had porcupine liver and that was quite sweeeet and tasty.

These two beavers were for the skinnin' and the meat. 8 bucks a pelt in North Bay, and a family feed for everyone.

Tried it once at a wildlife dinner near Peterborough.
Wasn't very appealing in appearance , stringy and greasy looking but actually quite tasty.
Although the highlight was some wildrice pudding with cream .
