What Is In Your Cooler?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I always carry Gatorade, water, Red Bull for the really long days and some granola bars. I've started carrying Protein bars because I find they help you feel fuller as well they also taste good. I tend to carry other snacks like pop-tarts and cereal bars. I try to buy things that come in foil wrappers because they will keep forever in the boat and then I can just leave them there.

Craig,

If I'm by myself I toss the Honda generator, beer fridge, blender and the gas BBQ in the back of the boat.

1/4 barrel on tap @ 36 degrees along with some limes and margarita mix. The Cabo Wabo tequila and Cointreau is in the freezer with the ice, and frosted glasses.

I prefer to grill up Wagyu Beef hamburgers top them with with goat cheese as well as grilled onions and black truffels in a balsalmic reduction served on a toasted Ciabatta roll. I like to make a side of beer batter onion rings too.

I usually head out with some fruit, chocolate covered granola bars, 3-4 sodas and a big bottle of water.

I usually come back with some fruit, chocolate covered granola bars, a big bottle of water and 1 soda.

I wonder why my wife doesn't pack a cooler for me anymore..... :?

A lot of great suggestions... thanks guys!

DS'er... I get the feeling you are Captain Stubing from The Love Boat...

I can't see too many boats getting all that stuff on board and still able to fish. That... and you are a charming fellow! I suppose I will see when you make it to the derby @ the Miss on the 28th!

@Nips and fishin mission.... you gotta cough to get off;

THEN what do you eat other than Skittles and Fanta?

@ all the booze hounds... not a very good weight to nutrition ratio. And the amount of urine that must end up in your boat and dried on your pants must be the likes of which old aged home workers would gag at. Maybe not at first.. but after a few of those brews... a few drops turn into cups... turns into a pair of Micky Rourke's pajamas.

...just saying is all.

@fishmaster
You have found good tasting protein bars? What kind are they? The last time I had those... 1988 working at UPS in MTL.... a box broke open... and... well... I found them on the floor... they were GROSS...
Image

never tried them again.

@Steady Eddy
Peanuts. Beer. Smokes. That was what I was consuming the last time I took a plane with my older brother... Expo '86 to and from VAN....
Image

good times...
Not so good for fishing though! :D

Looks like I kneed a dehydrator... that seems to make a lot of sense.

Thanks guys!!

Craig,
When you only get a few hours on the water a month... Trust me. You bring (at least one) beer. And you stare at it sayin...

-Not till I catch my first fish

Even if it's 5:00 AM on your first cast and you hook up.. you say thank you Mr.Bass.
