Where do i get Muskie Spinnerbaits?
After a very successfuly first muskie trip I've begun to look around for rods, reels, line, lures...you name it. I've picked out a nice rod and reel with some great line. But my main concern is where do I find those big spinnerbaits? I've found the big crankbaits but I can't seem to find those giant muskie catching spinners? Are they homemade? Is there a special dealer? Please help! I'm hooked onto muskie and need some hooks to go and find some more!!!

Ed has a few muskie baits but remember he's mostly a bass store Still i've bought a few baits there over the past couple of years. There's also a few online muskie stores.. one i know of is in Ontario and a few others in the states. Considering this area is prime muskie territory it's surprising there isn't more muskie gear sold.

MuskieWannabe,
I too have just geered up to start muskie fishing - expensive eh!
I found some of the big fudally type spinner baits at:
http://www.protacklemuskyshop.com/index.php
I even drove down there to see the store. The guy runs it out of his garage - great guy, plenty of advice, all good tackle not just the pretty stuff to lure the angler. However on the same note, I have lost a few lures while trolling deep, and the cost of replacement has me looking at making my own, I tie my own flys and muskie lures are really just a bigger version. I have heard of some River-Rat lures being made out in Orleans but can't find any links on the web. Good luck

If you are serious about using spinners and you have certain colours you really want and you just can't find shat you are looking for....then try making your own.
I got a 31 inch muskie this year (prior to derby start shucks) on a spinner I made myself. Wow what a feeling. I started making my own when I went all over the city to find the one that was catcing me a lot of fish but I dropped into the river and simply could not find again.
This winter I am hoping to make a big batch so I can sell them to make up the cost and have some for myself as a break even hobby.
