What fish species is this?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Everytime I go wading for smallies in Manotick I catch a bunch of these and don't know exactly what it is?

Sorry about the picture quality, taken with my cell phone.

Fallfish........never even heard of those and I have been catching them for two years now. They seem to love the inline spinners.

Thanks for the info.

They are completely different fish. Whitefish have an adipose fin, finer scales, under-slung mouth. Also, whitefish are coldwater fish, fallfish are warmwater. Whitefish are deep now, won't be up shallow until end of October. The fish in the picture is definitely a fallfish.

Yeah, that was probably me.

I have been going there for 2 years now and have caught mostly smallies, largemouth once, a goby once and those fallfish many times. I really like that place.
