Where to dispose of "old" gas

Does anyone know of any places that will take old gas (2 stroke - with the oil mixed in)?

I've got some old stuff in a canister and would like to dispose of it legally and environmentally.

Do the household hazardous waste programs accept it?

I used to sneak over the My neighbour...(we hated each other) and put in his cars gas tank :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
