need help toronto

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

joco, i may be able to help but i have a couple of questions.

Are you only interested in Muskie tackle?

What do you want to fish for in the Toronto area(GTA)?

What time of the day is best for you to go fishing?

ps. Say hi to Daniel at Pollacks if you pass by there

Grant.

Joco, if you're driving in from Ottawa there is a number of stores on the way there, and on the way back. Ist, try the pro tackle muskie shop just north of Belleville (coming in from Tweed, 2km off the highway #37 i think it is)

http://www.protacklemuskyshop.com/index.php

Your next bet is in Oshawa just off of the Park Road exit, just south of the 401 where there are two tackle stores (Gagnons & Barcklays).

My favorite store, not only because they have lots of muskie stuff at low prices, but lots of SALMON and STEELHEAD stuff too (they sell nothing but crap for Steelhead in Ottawa, try buying a float reel here) is Tightlines, south of the 401 on Brock Road in Pickering. It's in a little strip mall on the east side of the road, right next to a CD store, and near Pickering Honda.

joco, what do you mean.........you won't fish for Carp? :?

This sounds to me like a classic case of toothy critter syndrome  Pike can be found at the bottom of Spadina Ave and along the waterfront to Ontario Place to the West. I wouldn't use anything fancy though. All you need are some spinners- #3-5, soft plastic jerkbaits and some fair sized stickbaits.

You may also want to try the Lakeview Generating Station........in Mississauga. This is about 20 minutes from the airport and might cough-up a surprise Brown Trout, Pike or a big Smallmouth. Not too far West(10mins) is the town of Port Credit. The mouth of the Credit River might be worth a try as well.

If you want to send me your email addy, i will spray paint a few maps for ya!

Have a safe trip and hope to hear a report from the Big Smoke.
