What did I catch?

Wow, I was not expecting two pages of replies in a day! I'm leaning towards mooneye myself which is funny because when I caught it that's what I called it.
The mouth was interesting, unlike most fish I've caught, the top of the mouth went straight back from the upper jaw instead of opening up inside the mouth. And the bottom jaw moved up and down like a wooden dummy that a ventrilaquist uses.
The flesh when cooked was very mushy and had lots of long "bass like" bones plus tones of short sharp ones. I ate the whole thing anyways
The fish was caught in Lac St. Marie which is connected to a big river sytem, which I think is the Gatineau River. It was caught on a half inch of worm on a hook right off of the bottom.
