It was more or less pure luck on my part, since I don't always remember to throw my camera into the tackle bag. Let's give full credit to the pike for being willing to make a repeat appearance and pose nicely. Anyway, this and a few other sightings have turned me into a guy who spends too much time peering down through the hole. I don't know if this is really effective as far as fishing technique is concerned, but it sure is fun! Oh, and yes--the perch were making themselves scarce that afternoon.
