I am going to Petrie Island tonight...First time there...any tips as where to fish. Any good spots....It's all catch and release....

Hey Stu,if you r goin from shore your best bets are to stay right in or inbetween the 2 culverts there.The bottom is very odd and will eat up artaficial baits in a hurry 
Try live or dead minnows,leeches,worms,and frogs but just sit your line out and wait is best.You can jig up eyes if sittin gets boring too.There are alot of different fish out there and we have sucessfully been pullin cats out for the last week or so.Any lure that runs less than 7ft will be safe for the most part if you prefer cast and retrieve,but ;like I said the bottom is real up and down.Also you can walk down a few paths to find weedy spots to toss plastics for LM that prob dont see as much presure.
