non fishing- corn on the cob by campfire??

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Just leave it in the husk. Wrap in tinfoil and put it on a grill. The juice from the husk will steam the cob and the foil will keep the steam in.

Butter, salt, pepper + 5 hours = human tommy gun.

Pull back the husk... but not off. Take off all the hair... then put the husks back on and give them a tie with some twine. Then soak the cobs in water for a few hours. Then put them almost right in the fire... just so they don't catch fire. Corn gets steamed... just husk them once they've dried out over the fire and voila... awesome corn on the cob. Yummm

I do this on the grill all the time and they come out so tasty.

Pull the husk back but do not remove, Tie the husk in a know to use as a handle. Butter the corn all over and salt. Put on a grill over the fire for about 15 minutes turning often. The butter and the salt cook right into the corn and you do not loose any of the flavor that steams or boils out as in other methods.

Do similar with backed potatos. Clean then prick with a fork 2 or 3 times, butter and salt (no tinfoil please) place on the grill for up to an hour turning aver 15 minutes. All the moisture will cook out of the spud which will leave a nice flackie potato center with a nice salted crust.

Know go get a ceder plank and some Salmon and you have a feast.

OK I have to go have lunch know.

Put water in pot.
Put corn in pot.
Put pot in fire.

Man, I like your ideas much better. Sounds like we are trying to avoid the need for a pot.

Corn done in the coals of a campfire is better than any boiling method.

Banjo has the right idea.

No tinfoil or pot required. Just some salt and butter.
