Preventing out of season bass strikes.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

The 80# flouro leader may also be a give away. If you are fishing pike without wire or heavy flouro you are losing hardware not to mention damaging fish.
i never lose any hardware and have never used a leader in my life if i lose the fish then so be it that's fishing.
Using leaders is for pussy's

Well I don't like losing a good fish (they are the ones that break/bite you off), but more importantly, the idea of a fish with a bunch of hardware stuck in its mouth dying a slow death is what really eats at me. I do anything I can to prevent it. If that makes me a pussy..... then meow.

There's nothing to explain i just don't use leaders never have never will.
I don't lose fish or hardware almost never. I have caught fish very alive with someone else hardware sticking out of his yap!

Remarkable. I have had pike bite clean through 50# flouro leader material. I use wire of 80#+ flouro. What do you other pike/musky hunters use or not use?

All lot of what a pike will / can bite off depends on what you are fishing.

Big top-waters or spinner baits keep the line away from the teeth much better than say crank baits or soft plastics.
