This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

2014 HANK GIBSON PROVINCIAL QUALIFER

Hello Fellow Anglers & Tournament Competitors:

Only a few short weeks are left until some of the province’s most competitive anglers converge on Big Rideau Lake (Rideau Ferry) for the 2014 Hank Gibson Provincial Qualifier. On Saturday August 23rd & Sunday August 24th over 140 anglers will compete for a coveted spot on “Team Ontario”. After 2 days of competition on one of Eastern Ontario’s most productive fisheries the top 12 anglers will form “Team Ontario 2015” and go on the following year to compete in the U.S. at the Bassmaster Divisional Championship.
Ottawa Valley South Bassmasters ( www.ottawabassmasters.com ) is very proud to have been chosen as the host committee for this event and our planning has been underway for over a year now. None of which would be possible without our valued sponsors. They come from local members and businesses and many other industry leaders in the sport we love, fishing.
We are also very proud to announce that Friday August 22nd will once again see our “Take A Soldier Fishing” event combined with our Junior Provincial Championship. Where our “under 18” Junior Ontario Bass Nation members compete for a spot on the same team to be sent to the divisionals in 2015. All the boats for which are supplied on a volunteer basis by our Ontario Bass Nation members.
Our 3 day event will be held out of Rideau Ferry using the newly developed waterfront area at the bridge. Our weigh-in stage and sponsor booths will be set-up at the SHIPWRECK RESTAURANT.
For full details on this year’s event and a list of our sponsors please go to http://ontariobass.com/tournament/provincial-qualifier/
We look forward to seeing you all there.

Thanks

Tim Baker

Anyone can become an OBN member at any time by joining an OBN affiliated bassmaster chapter like OVSB.
However the cutoff date was June 30th for eligibility.
This tournament rotates from region to region annually across Ontario and is an incredible event for learning new waters and meeting fellow anglers from across Ontario.

Membership fees for OBN chapters vary and the registration fee for the 2 day event is $200.
The bulk of the entry fees go towards funding team Ontario on their way to the U.S. Divisional in 2015.
