Weekend getaway locations

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Weekend getaway locations

Post by Mudpout »

Well me and the Misses are going through a bit of a rough patch lately, our jobs and lives have been piling on the stress and its taking its toll on us. We've both managed to clear our scedules for the long weekend and are hoping for a bit of a get away and rekindle. Just wondering if anyone here could recommend a good last minute spot for us. Not looking for any secret lakes or anything like that. Moreso a lake with a hotel nearby or cottages. We live east of Ottawa and would be willing to put the miles on to get to a sweet spot.

Any info would be greatly appreciated guys, i dont want to lose my first mate!!

Try around Sandbanks area for a great get-away
Also, Groupon normally has great deals for Niagara Falls get aways.

You could check out West Palmerston Cottages at Ompah. They have a bunch of cabins including a couple of smaller ones.

Cheers

One of my buddies swears by Algonquin Park... You could try Silver Lake/Any of the parks on highway 7, or head to the Kawarthas - Terrific stuff, and a great setting. If you need some kindling for the situation, Kingston is a small town with fishing and also has suitable amenities that might come in handy.

Cheers on you for being proactive about the situation!
