OBN Anglers Giving Back

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

OBN Anglers Giving Back

Post by painter »

Hello Fellow Anglers,

We are 9 days away from the 2014 Hank Gibson OBN Provincial Qualifier to be held at Rideau Ferry on Big Rideau Lake. As part of our event we have included a food drive on behalf of the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank.

Carleton Place Marine will be providing an empty boat for display at the event site. It is our goal to fill the boat with non-perishable food donations.

Come on out and support your local anglers, and drop a food donation into the boat. Its for a great cause.

Hope to see you there.

2014 Hank Gibson Organizing Committee.

Great Cause for the Event
Head's up out there.... I read today that there is a suspected http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-new ... ideau-lake Blue/Greem Algae bloom happening.... be sure to get the boats rinsed well... don't want to be spreading that all over the province.
Just an FYI
Hope everyone has fun and that a local kicks some butt out there.

This suspected algae bloom is not an issue at all. The event is being held on BIG RIDEAU not upper Rideau. Competitors are NOT permitted to lock.

In fact your happy go lucky "cruiser crowd" are more likely to help with the algae being taken from lake to lake as they are up and down the entire Rideau system in a matter of days on any given outing.
