The Rideau Brawl between two boats.

Hit the Rideau tonight to try and settle the score with Renegade team 28.

Rules were simple.
3 fish limit of LMB and SMB.
Back at the ramp at 8:30 for the weighin.

On the line were bragging rights and a couple of minutes about tips and tricks.

The night started off slow. I tried the black and red R2S spinnerbait again for 20 minutes and had no luck. I decided to throw my Duo Realis pencil 110 around weed edges as well as in and around open areas between slop. The last and biggest one came off a frog right beside the boat.

River Monster and I managed 5 bass and a really nice pike and I beleive the Dufour's managed about the same (Mav/tzar, feel free to add here).
The final score was close with River Monster and I weighing in 6.13 while team 28 managed 6.02. Not quite enough of a difference for bragging rights, but enough for a W.

All in all a great night with some good times.

FYI, I think the feed bags have started going because those fish are getting fat. One if our fish was 1.5 pounds yet it was over 3 inches wide at the belly. Nice to see after a not so stellar beginning to the summer.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm ... I was at the weigh-in and I thought I heard that Team 28 got a 2 a 2.1 and a 3.1 for a total of 7.2
Then again my hearing isn't what it used to be. 8)

With that being said, my vision must be going bad...I called out the weights, 2, 2.1 and 3.1
Sorry Adam, we finished with 7.02 :? :D 8-)

But regardless, really enjoyed the Rideau yesterday, what a difference no boat traffic makes on the river!!
The bites weren't far and out in between fish, aggressive and tenacious!

I also noticed the growth of weeds was in abundance and far more thicker than the last time we were on the Rideau (MS Bassin). The fact there was no wind really helped pin point the pockets and target the never ending weed edge.

The Bass are thickening up, short and stubby, which tells me the best fishing is to come soon!
Definitely be hitting the Rideau again, probably for the Virtual Tourney!

Zoom Horny toads and frogs were the lures of choice.

Thanks for the friendly competition lads!

Lol,

Leave it to the guy who walked away while you weighed your fish to write the report!

Rick told me you weighed in 6.02. I guess he forgot how to do the math and judging by your 3 fish, I would say a 7.02is justifyable even with the fact you had a fish in the boat before we started.

It was still a close matchup and was fun none the less. When you are ready to go again, let us know.

Numbers, Shnumbers…I’m just happy getting out!
Next Wednesday?

Ivace, Shawn, maybe even Biggs, surely have an open seat in one of these boats!

I will be out there on Wednesday. If the weather is looking bad, I will probably change the day but I do go out at least once a week.

I do think you guys need to find another ramp or a bugger truck though. I really don't know how you guys do it.

Adam.

Team 28 could always meet you at whatever boat launch. Then you swap trailers and float both boats from the 4x4 or what ever.

Hell I've got a frame hitch and multi-ball setup and would be happy to hook up and launch someones boat on just about any ramp, seeing as my canoe sits on top!

Or if they feel better I could just hand em the keys and they launch. Nissan Xterra 4x4 with heavy towing package.

And don't forget guys that next week will be the tourney so bring your id codes with you. You just might win more than bragging rights.
