Larry 10/23 - 10/26

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Larry 10/23 - 10/26

Post by nanookofnj »

Went back for our third (and final) 2014 trip to the Larry last Thursday thru Saturday. As always, the more wind and cloud cover the better the SM fishing. Water was around 56- 57 degrees each day and from my estimation was down 2 - 3 feet since we were up in August which made getting to the dock pretty tough. Thursday evening (10/23) yielded the largest SM at 5lbs 7 oz on our first stop. Friday with sun and calm conditions made for the toughest fishing. Drop shot with small paddle tail baits and 3" tubes did all of the damage over the 4 days. Saturday evening even yielded some large walleyes and LM on the tube. Already looking forward to next year.

LOL. All pictures have been withheld to protect the innocent (and our honey hole). The 5lb 7oz in the above pic went back to make more smalljaws.

Agreed RJ. We've spent the last 20 years all over fishing for SM. From the St. Lawrence to Champlain to lakes throughout Canada and NY State and the SM fishery in the Larry smokes all of them every time IMO. Not sure why we ever go anywhere else.

When Bernie Schultz was on stage at the Bassmaster event last year out of Waddington NY, he says..."I've been all over the US fishing, this is the greatest Bass fishing anywhere."
