One of the coolest looking fish that swim in fresh water. Congrats man, definitely not common around these parts.

Thanks again guys.

Been thinking about picking up a Musky combo.
Any suggestions on a starter setup?? Been thinking Daiwa Lexa 300 and a 7'6" Daiwa DMX H Musky rod or the 8'6" H.

That's a good set up, lots of guys like the Lexa.

As far as rod length goes it sorta depends on what and where you'll be fishing from. IMO

If you're in a boat I'd go with the longer rod which will make casting bigger baits easier as well as boatside figure 8's. But if you mostly throw jerkbaits or glidebaits from shore the smaller rod would be a better fit.

Or just buy both :D :D

You're just looking for an excuse to buy them bigger swimbaits!  ;)

Your right. Ideally, I'd like to get a swimbait rod that could double as a musky rod. But I also wouldn't mind going for musky every now and then

If your fishing from shore try the telescopic shimano musky rods, the longest is 8foot6 I believe. Long rods are good from shore because you can control your bait better when trying to swim it through weeds or other obstructions and you can cast further. If you don't like long rods then go with a bass rod/combo like the quantum smoke. It will throw some fairly heavy lures and won't tire you out.
