Cabela's

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Cabela's

Post by biggs »

It's also coming!

Didn't realize Bass Pro hasn't even started construction, I wonder if a 2015 opening is still realistic? Maybe they will cancel the plans like in MTL, I'd much rather BPS then Cabela's Canada which is not the same as US Cabela's.

BPS said on twitter that planning for 2016 (looks fishy since it was suppose to be at the start of 2015). Cabelas will have half the size of it's legacy stores 70 000 square feet instead of 150 000.

But since they don't carry lots of our equipment, I'll continue will the smaller stores that we have. But yes it's cool to look at because of the size.

I've been looking at the Cabela's site and it seems like its prices are more expensive than Sail and Bass Pro...

Make sure you are looking at the .ca site. We will be getting a Cabela's Canada which is a very watered down US Cabela's.

Yeah, I'm looking at their ice fishing stuff on the .ca site and comparing the prices to Sail and it's more... Looked at the Abu Garcia Veritas ice combo at both and it's a full $10 more... Going through other lures and stuff too and everything seems to be more expensive :?

Something amiss here. Heard the BPS bailing rumour awhile ago. Either way from what I've read about the Barrie Cabelas......the local shops have nothing to be concerned about.

Personally, I've always found Le Baron to have better prices than BPS. Maybe not the section as BPS, but everything I need. I bought a BPS reel a few years ago. Nice reel but I can't order parts on-line.

Cabelas in Barrie has a very good hunting section but as per fishing they don't have much at all.

The Ottawa Citizen has a story about Bass Pro and they claim there plans are still to open a store in Kanata.

WE have had a number of threads on this so I chose this one at random....

Cabella's countdown is on... Website says next store opening is: Ottawa September 22nd.
