This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Nature Watch-Ice Watch along the Ottawa River

Post by Lunker Larry »

Many of you pay close attention to the plant life, terra and fauna along the Ottawa River. Put your interest, hobby or knowledge to use.
Join researchers and nature enthusiasts across Canada in collecting scientific data that helps track changes in our natural environment. Canadian nature needs you!
NatureWatch is a community that engages all Canadians in collecting scientific information on nature to understand our changing environment.
There are watch programs for ice, plants, frogs and worms. Join at: https://www.naturewatch.ca/
Collection of Ice Watch information would be very valuable for each reach of the Ottawa River.
Ice cover duration and the timing of ice-off are important climatic triggers to many fish. For instance pike and muskie spawn immediately after the ice melts each spring.

Any volunteers? Please spread the word on this program!
