This looks like fun... Will there be a kid friendly setup? Pre drilled holes and access to some gear I have some rod and lures but would like To know if there will be some heater and shelter.

RJ Post Subject says Feb 14th and poster says Feb 15.
Maybe it's an overnighter ......sounds like fun i am pondering this one!

Agreed this looks like a lot of fun! Get out the honey worms! Should be a small Crappie trumps all blue Gills!

I am planning on heading up this year for this and if so I can drill some holes for your kid! Just point me where you would want them.zippyfx wrote:This looks like fun... Re: RJnBirdees Annual Panfish Derby- Feb 14th
can I get some directions please?
Re: RJnBirdees Annual Panfish Derby- Feb 14th
There won't be a formal spot for folks to sit and fish in a shelter though by then you can use your car... Someone is always willing to drill a few holes for folks but if you're stuck by all means ask someone at registration for a hand.
Directions? It's on Lower Rideau Lake. Easiest access point will be Conservation Launch by Rideau Ferry. Head to the left off end of ramp and you'll see a city of shacks. There will be signs, just follow em!
Thanks all!

I'm in for sure. It's a super fun derby. Just follow the signs from Rideau Ferry Rd.

If hockey don't get in the way I'll be out with the kids! This maybe just what I need to purchase a new Hub style shelter...of course for when the kids come.
Fishing the St.Lawrence 12 months a year!

Haha using the kids as an excuse to get new fishing toys? That's how it's done!riverdog wrote:If hockey don't get in the way I'll be out with the kids! This maybe just what I need to purchase a new Hub style shelter...of course for when the kids come.

Rob, I am interested and could probably get a few guys to come along.
I have never been on Lower Rideau, neither open water nor hard water.
I am looking at "Google Maps" in the area of Rideau Ferry, but I do not see any launch ramps. Can you please be a bit more specific, and/or post a map as to how to find you?
THANKS!
Doug

Hi Doug
It is easier if you switch to satellite. The following link will take you to Rideau Ferry. https://www.google.ca/maps/@44.8521984, ... !1e3?hl=en
Turn on Yacht Club Road, follow to Rideau Valley Conservation Authority boat launch on your right. Will likely be a bunch of vehicles there to indicate location.
