BIG 'eye on the Larry!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

What an absolute beast! Don't blame you for wanting the conditions to stay as-is.

Great Eye of Wall!

Just remember folks venturing out onto the Larry is a matter of 10' in the wrong direction & you'll be through...the St.Lawrence has some of the hardest/Fastest currents around.

Damn right! Know your ice. Floater suit, ice picks, rope and a good spud are a must if you go exploring on the Larry. 3 mph current can take you places you really don't want to go lol.

Excellent Post. You absolutely have to know where you're going out there. I fished the Pike derby out of Johnstown for a few years and even for Pike you had to be in the current to find them. One year we were fishing on 3-4 inches of ice. Kinda touchy you might say. Open water wasn't that far away.

Cheers

You're absolutely right smitty, all it takes is a little cold snap and some snow to disguise an unsafe area. Still sections of wide open water out there. I can't stress enough the importance of appropriate safety gear and knowledge of the ice conditions. Cheers and stay safe!
